Art and fairy tales have long been intertwined. Both seek to give form to what resists explanation: fear, memory, desire, pain, and hope. In the work of Noga Shavit, the fairy tale is not merely a source of inspiration but a living space through which reality is approached by way of imagination.<\/p>

Shavit\u2019s works move between photography, drawing, and material interventions of scratching, incision, and disruption. Photography serves as a point of departure. By altering its surface and exposing its layers, she creates works that seem to carry the traces of memory, time, and experience within their very materiality.<\/p>

The forest, the wolf, the color red, and the recurring female figure function as charged symbols. Drawn from the realm of fairy tales, they become a language for exploring the human psyche. At the center stands Little Red Riding Hood\u2014not as a child from a familiar story, but as a metaphorical figure carrying memories, traumas, and fears through a forest that is both physical and psychological.<\/p>

Red, the dominant color in many works, embodies a duality: life and love, but also blood, wounds, and warning. Through it, Shavit creates a tension between beauty and threat, attraction and fear.<\/p>

In these works, the fairy tale is not an escape from reality but a means of confronting it. Through images that remain open rather than offering fixed narratives, viewers are invited to encounter their own memories, fears, and dreams.<\/p>

Shavit\u2019s world is shaped by oppositions: paradise and hell, vulnerability and strength, destruction and renewal. From these tensions emerges a personal artistic language in which the wound is not only a sign of pain but also a point of reflection, understanding, and transformation.<\/p>
