The exhibition “Awareness of Memory” by the artist Nahed Abo Alhega Hamza, curated by Farid Abu Shakra, offers a profound emotional journey that moves between personal loss and collective loss — between the memory of a mother and the memory of a homeland. Through delicate yet intense drawings on everyday fabrics, the artist creates an intimate space in which material, body, and memory are interwoven.

The use of textiles — bed sheets, curtains, and domestic fabrics — lends the works a warm, enveloping quality, yet also a charged and complex one, carrying traces of life, scents, memories, and personal stories. The Sisyphean working process, combining drawing, stitching, and the absorption of stains, generates an emotional visual language that moves between pain and compassion, between inner turmoil and an attempt at healing.
