The exhibition unfolding before you reveals community-based creative processes experienced by four emerging women artists. Each of them works from an awareness of sensitive issues within our society, seeking to engage with and confront them:
Yathreb Khatib addresses the suspicion felt by Arab women in Israel’s public spaces and attempts to intervene in these spaces using street art techniques;
Bilsan Karim aims to promote peace and reconciliation, commemorating the victims of organized crime in Arab society;
Lana Bayadseh explores intergenerational female trauma in the shadow of the Nakba through traditional Palestinian fellahi embroidery;
Rabab Abu Sa’adeh seeks inner light and healing by imprinting personal symbols into the local soil.
