This video work documents the struggle of the village of Al-Araqib to continue living with dignity on its lands in the face of repeated attempts at eviction and erasure. As part of a long-term artistic collaboration, Einat Weizman has recorded the details of the village’s struggle, which has been demolished 243 times and rebuilt up to the present. The video captures an extraordinary period in fifteen years of resistance—after October 7, when, amidst the Gaza attack, the village experienced a brief six-month respite, offering a rare glimpse of the potential for life without destruction. The video is accompanied by sand animation by Olga Goltser.

Al-Araqib is an unrecognized Bedouin village located just 10 kilometers north of Be’er Sheva. It lacks even the most basic infrastructure.
